1. how do you assess the reviewers? and 2. how do you train peers to provide quality reviews that are useful to recipients. I've had students review each other and they are sometimes reluctant to criticize each other
Peter Snyder
01:02:44
Peer Review in a Self Paced online course?
Diana Marrs
01:06:19
maybe start with a non-class member's work and have the whole class try the rubric, discuss as a whole class as a training tool?
Peter Snyder
01:07:15
I really appreciate being given the rubric to evaluate my own work.
Unknown Speaker
00:00

Back to concept maps...I have a colleague who I believe is trying to use this type of assessment now. However, a number of her students spoke with me and they were quite anxious. They felt the assignment was not explained well, they didn't understand how to create the map, what the point was, what they were supposed to get out of it...how does one avoid this problem?
Siri GuruNam Khalsa
01:22:04
How would one use the reflective checklist to go deeper into themselves. A student could just check everything
Unknown Speaker
00:00
01:26:37 carolyn: If you are wanting to use a collaborative tool and to have students share their thinking, padlet is a great tool.
Peter Snyder
01:27:29

In providing evidence, again the students have their beliefs of what qualities they bring forth, but how they view themselves maybe different then what someone else in the environment will see when the person outside views those behaviors.
Unknown Speaker
00:00
01:28:59 eduddy: you could suggest to instructor that a few students are seeking guidance about doing the assignment
Gloria Gadsden

01:29:25 eduddy: and can they help you better help the students...
Unknown Speaker

01:30:06 carolyn: The instructor might want to create an open office/webinar time for those students that might need guidance or help
