President Minner, I just want to sincerely thank you for leading us through this pandemic. I greatly appreciate these zoom sessions and how well you’ve kept us informed and reassured during this tough time. It’s because of your leadership that we’ll all get through this! Thank you again!

Hello Regent Marchi.
“The world breaks everyone and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry.”― Ernest Hemingway, A Farewell to Arms
Several of us in biology are using the coronavirus pandemic to have our students learn more about the biology of this virus. In my Biol4230 class, Dr. Carolyn Machamer, professor at Johns Hopkins who I did a sabbatical with in 2013 and 2014, is going to join our class to discuss her research on coronavirus and students will be giving group PowerPoint presentations on one of her recent papers about coronaviruses.
Carol did it!
Don’t disparage women named Carol, but I think she did it as well!
That’s wonderful, Carol! I’ve been fortunate to have a couple of visiting writers Zoom into my class. I think this virus is allowing us to create connections across the country for our students!
