I have a question - is there anything the custodial staff needs?
Sarah Corey-Rivas

Are there HU cares funds for students coping with family emergencies? I know there usually are, but especially now there have been new situations arising for rural students with family spread out and in need.

A notarized letter is difficult for students on reservations where everything is closed. Is there an alternative to this Margaret?
Carol Linder

I think this is a mistake personally

I will talk with the Foundation to see if the notarized letter can be waived for now. We do however, require documentation from a student regarding their need.

Folks, on the notarized letter - this is not required by the Foundation in every case. We have required it where there is not other documentation that would be adequate for our auditor. We must be able to document that we have complied with the criteria and donor restrictions on these funds. We'll work with folks as much as we can, but we need to have some form of objective documentation. Also, we have asked Juli Salman, who is a public notary, to notarize as needed so that students are not charged and so that it is as convenient as possible for the student.
